The print of No. 4472 Flying Scotsman in the condition it made its historic non-stop run from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley on 1st May 1928, attached to one of the newly introduced corridor tenders, will be available from 12th May 2016 – to coincide with the return of Flying Scotsman to the Main Line. Click on the picture below for further details.
The Limited Edition print run will be of 350 copies with the first (1/350) being allocated, as usual, by a draw. You will be entered into the draw if you make an advance purchase in the three weeks before publication.
If you would like to be contacted when advance orders are being taken let me know via the LNER Gresley A1/A3 Form.
Each print in this new range consists of multiple images, usually showing a locomotive class in different liveries and/or condition. The illustrations are of exactly the same quality as those used for the Limited Edition range but reduced in size to fit the standard A3 print format.
One big advantage of this range is that A3 frames are available off-the-shelf, greatly reducing the cost of framing!
Although these prints are not Limited Editions they can be ordered signed by the artist for a small extra charge.
Congratulations to I. Williamson who won the draw for the first signed and numbered print (1/150) of No. 34064 Fighter Command.
Advance orders for the print of No. 34064 Fighter Command are now being taken with the print being available from 21st May 2015. This fully detailed illustration shows Fighter Command fitted with the Giesel oblong ejector in 1962.
The Limited Edition run will be of just 150 copies, with the first (1/150) allocated, as usual, by a draw. You will be entered into the draw if you make an advance order by 24:00 on the 20th May 2015. Orders with cheques arriving by 20th May 2015 will be accepted.
The illustration of No. 70000 Britannia in the condition it was named has been completed and can be viewed by clicking on the above link or the picture below.
A Limited Edition print of just 250 copies will be available later this year, from 22nd October. The first (1/250) will be allocated, as usual, by a draw. You will be entered into the draw if you make an advance purchase in the three weeks before publication.
If you would like to be contacted when advance orders are being taken let me know via the BR Britannia Form.
The price of the prints has been held at same level for five years, since August 2010, but reluctantly the price for the standard prints will rise to £32.50 from 1st July. The LNER B17/4 Footballer prints will be held at the present price of £19.50. Postage will also be kept at current rates.
I hope you will agree that this is still amazing value for these highly detailed low-run Limited Edition prints.
This gives three months to purchase prints at the present price and beat the rise!
The following prints will be made available during the year.
No. 34064 Fighter Command with Giesl Ejector – available from 21st May
Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain 1940 – 2015
No. 70000 Britannia in 1951 condition – available from 22nd October
This is currently being worked on and will be added to the site as soon as it is finished.
Both will have print number 1 allocated by a draw. You will be entered into this draw if you have made an advance purchase in the three weeks before the release date.
A start has been made on gathering information for a series of illustrations covering the Gresley A1/A3 pacifics. It is planed initially to produce the following three locomotives, with No. 4472 Flying Scotsman appearing first.
No. 1470 Great Northern (1922) GNR Green
No. 4472 Flying Scotsman (1928) LNER Green
No. 2750 Papyrus (1935) LNER Green
It is expected that further members of the class will be added, so if you wish to suggest your favourite locomotive and condition, or wish to be notified when a print of one of the above becomes available, please use the online LNER A1/A3 Form.
