Withdrawn from traffic and stored while awaiting a definite place in the overhaul queue. There is ongoing cosmetic maintenance of the locomotive.

July 2006

Withdrawn from traffic on the 7th July 2006 due to the expiry of its boiler ticket. It is now awaiting overhaul after many years of excellent service.

June 2006

Normandy is in its final couple of months of service, with the boiler ticket running out on the 7th July. No.96 is in traffic as and when required i.e. Monday and Thursday Carriage and Wagon Dept. shunting etc.

No.96 has also been in use on the Bluebell Specials. These trains are run using just a vintage locomotive and the 1913 built LNWR Observation Car. This gives passengers good views of the woods, which are carpeted in bluebells in the spring, giving the line its name. An Autumn version is also run to enable the viewing of the fantastic Autumn colours.

April 2006

Normandy was out stretching its legs during Bluebell's Goods Train Weekend (8th April to 9th April) hauling the pre-grouping goods train.

March 2006

Recent work on the locomotive has appeared to have solved the problem with the regulator blowing by. The regulator body was removed and the faces have been machined to remove any irregularities. The assembly has now been refitted and everything seems OK!
